Rate Qualifications - Financial rates apply to businesses whose locations for consumer transactions are within The Washington Post local rate area.
All other financial advertisers qualify for the General rates. The local area is composed of the District of Columbia, the states of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and West Virginia, and the counties of Pennsylvania that border the state of Maryland (Chester, Lancaster, York, Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Bedford and Somerset). Categories of businesses eligible for Financial rates:

- Loan and Credit Organizations

- Investment Companies
- Investment Opportunities
- Currency Exchanges
- Financial Planning Services

- Consumer Tax Advisory Services

- Internet-based Financial Service Companies
