Home Delivery & Newsstand

Your advertising message, in the form of a pre-printed flier, catalog or brochure, is inserted into The Washington Post for home delivery to subscribers (targeted by micro-zone or zip code). In addition, you can place your insert into any or all of The Washington Post's newsstand zones. This combination gives you the greatest overall paid penetration of your target area.

Preprint Delivery Days

  • Tuesday - with the Health section (premium charge applies)
  • Wednesday - with the Food section.
  • Thursday - with Home section and Extras (premium charge applies).
  • Friday - with the Weekend section.
  • Sunday - in the plastic-wrapped preprint package which also contains the Comics, Parade, national food coupons, The Washington Post Magazine and TV Week.

Preprint Specifications

Page Sizes:

  • Flexie: 6" x 7" to 9" x 11"
  • Tab Over: 9" x 11" to 11" x 13"
  • Standard Over: 11" x 13"

Machinable Edge: All preprints must have a single straight machinable edge, measuring a minimum of 7".

Smaller Preprints: 7" long (along the folded edge), 6" wide (perpendicular to folded edge).

Largest Folded Size: 12.5" long (along the folded edge), 11" wide (perpendicular to folded edge). Larger inserts must be quarter-folded.

Die Cut: All die-cut preprints require prior approval for insertability and may require additional costs.

Minimum Paper Weight:

  • Four Page Tab: 50 pound paper (or quarter folded)
  • Single Sheet: 70 pound paper
