Second Home & Resort Real Estate

The Washington Post will showcase the beautiful real estate beyond the Washington metro area in a special supplement to its popular Sunday Magazine devoted to second home and resort home buying opportunities in outer markets.

Second Home & Resort Real Estate will be published inside Washington’s best-read magazine — The Washington Post Magazine. It will be distributed to our entire readership of 1.4 million adults throughout the Washington DMA.

Reach prospective home buyers. 1.2 million Washington metro adults (35%) are in households that might consider buying a second, retirement or vacation home, many in your market:

  • A combined 41% of those who might consider purchasing a second home might consider North Carolina, South Carolina or Florida.
  • Nearly three in ten (29%) metro adults and four in ten (41%) second-home owners might consider purchasing in other areas.
  • Washington residents are affluent and ready to buy.
  • Length of home ownership is high: 43% of Magazine readers have lived in their homes for 10 years or more, and 35% own homes valued at or above $500,000.
  • The Washington market is first in household income among the nation’s top ten markets: 54% of adults reside in $75,000+ households.
  • Washingtonians have high net worth: 356,000 metro area adults are in households with non-real estate investments of $500,000+.
  • They read The Washington Post: Of metro area adults considering a second-home purchase, 65% read the Sunday Post, and 52% read the daily Post.
  • It’s a proven market of second-home buyers: 13% of all adults in the metro area are in households that own a second or vacation home.

Get three times the impact. In addition to your ad, this section’s writer will contact you to provide mention of your community’s amenities, location and assets, or any unique features about the services you offer our readers.
